Water samples are required as part of the escrow process in real estate sales and financing transactions to guarantee to the purchaser, lender, and if applicable, the government agency involved in the transaction (VA, USDA, FHA, etc.) that the drinking water for the subject property meets minimum health and safety standards as established by the Safe Drinking Water Act. Many lenders require these samples be drawn and transported to the lab only by third, disinterested party such as a Certified Water Sampler.
